Get An Act is a six week beginner\/intermediate class based on improving the development skills for creating an act. This class is designed to teach you the process to get from idea to a polished act.<\/p>\n

Class Objective:
\nUpon completion of this six week course you’ll have a new or improved act with the skills to create complex numbers from start to finish. Including music creation, costume design, makeup and accessories, dance choreography and understanding the details that make the act.<\/p>\n

Class materials and written material are provided with both lecture, and hands on performances taking place.<\/p>\n

GET AN ACT – Class times and schedule For Los Angeles:<\/p>\n

Eighteen hours of class time in the six week course.
\nSundays, 2PM – 5PM<\/p>\n

July 10th, 2016<\/strong> – Week One: Stage Persona
\nWhy we use them and how and when to use for your character.
\nJuly 17th, 2016<\/strong> – Week Two: Music
\nUnderstanding music and how the journey of dance choreography and stripping relate in burlesque.
\nJuly 24th, 2016<\/strong> – Week Three: Costuming and Make Up
\nBody and facial shape related to costume choices, style in context of the musical choice and the strip.
\nJuly 31st, 2016<\/strong> – Week Four: Props, Boas, Fans and Gloves
\nUsage of props including; boas, fans and glove work in the actual strip you\u2019ve decided to develop.
\nAugust 7th, 2016<\/strong> – Week Five: Pasties
\nStyles, usage and Tassel Twirling. Working numbers.
\nAug 14th, 2016<\/strong> – NO CLASS
\nAug 21st, 2016<\/strong> – Week Six: Professionalism and Final Touches
\nBusiness, negotiations, ethics, promotion, and emergency kits. Final numbers performance.
\nClass Fees: $300<\/p>\n

Burlesque performance experience is required, or dance and\/or some theater training. This is not a beginner class. Please contact Lili if you are unsure if you qualify. Students will be contacted upon registration.<\/p>\n

Students are expected to arrive 15 minutes early for sign in and dress comfortably. Performance and dance classes dates will require costumes (if developed) for best results.<\/p>\n
